A Drive Through East Side Detroit

This is what East side Detroit looks like. I'm from Southwest Detroit. It really is sad to see how far down Detroit has come since it's heyday as the "Arsenal of Democracy". Like many cities, there are still some great places to visit here.

Background: I was born and raised in the "good" part of Detroit. I live where Mexicantown meets Corktown. I took my kids to the Heilmann Recreation Center for a swim meet. On our way there I noticed the huge number of abandoned houses. So after our swim meet, I took the "scenic" route on our way to Belle Isle. On our way, I thought I would take a picture of 2 houses on a corner that were abandoned in a row. That's when I noticed that the entire street was abandoned and decided to take a video instead.
